Project manager ( 8+ years )

We are seeking a talented Project Manager to join our office to manage project teams on a broad range of projects, in collaboration with the designer from creation of the concept to the end of construction.


Duties - Get the project execution done well and timely using the following skills:


  • Provide leadership to the Principal Designer, Project Architect(s), the modeling / drafting Team and Clients by communicating and coordinating scope (contract), project objectives, schedule, team performance and on time deliverables.

  • Oversee project development on multiples projects varying in size and complexity

  • Establish the timing of key decisions and project milestones to meet established deadlines

  •  Manage / create scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors

  • Preparing full Construction Documents and Shop Drawings for all trades

  • Specification writing.

  • Building and Zoning Code review / research for compliance of the project.

  • Construction administration and management using the standard AIA Contracts and related forms: Change Orders, Supplemental Information, Substantial Completion, etc.

  • We are a Mac-based office, using Vectorworks. Experience with Vectorworks a plus but not necessary. Strong graphic skills, proficiency with CADD and Modeling software that can translate to using Vectorworks. Also, proficiency in all of the typical Apple Computer support software/apps such as Mail, Photos, Pages, Calendar, Contacts, Safari, etc.

  • Train and mentor staff under your supervision


Candidate Qualities:

  • Is motivated by their passion for good Architecture.

  • A professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution

  • Architectural License preferred

  • 8+ years of professional experience

  • Experience in High-End residential architecture is preferred.

  • Strong self-motivaion and energy - always moves forward on the project.

  • Is willing to “Charrette”; work the extra hours necessary for meeting deadlines at times.

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of architectural designers and consultants

  • Strong communication and organizational skills - takes and gives criticism well

  • Listens and is eager to work with lead Architect and the project team. Problem solves - i.e., gives options for conflicts discovered.

  • Substantial experience with producing documents. Has an “Art” for doing all graphic work such as Construction Documents

  • Has the skills for creating Specifications and doing material research.

  • Construction knowledge, preferably with some hands-on experience.

  • Able to run and manage multiple projects in an organized and timely manner independently.

  • Predicts the next move and facilitates it.

  • Takes ownership of their work.

  • Will work at the Firm’s location in New Canaan. Some remote work hours may or may not be required.
